A Showcase for Student Research

The University of Utah, in partnership with WECC, invites all PMAPS 2026 attendees to explore research and Utah history at the Student Posters Reception. This evening brings together student researchers, industry partners, and the broader power systems community in one of Salt Lake City’s most iconic venues.

  • Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2026
  • Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM MDT
  • Location: Natural History Museum of Utah, Rio Tinto Center, 301 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108

Hosted in the Rio Tinto Center, the evening features a chef-curated menu of Utah cheeses, seasonal produce, and regional specialties, alongside a selection of wine, beer, and desserts. With more than 400 expected attendees from academia, industry, and the power systems community, this is one of the conference’s premier networking events.

Student authors of accepted papers at PMAPS 2026 are invited to present their research in an engaging, interactive format. Participants will be automatically considered for the Best Student Poster Award, which recognizes excellence in technical quality, clarity, and visual design.
