PMAPS 2026 will recognize excellence in research, technical contribution, and presentation through several awards

Roy Billinton Best Student Paper Award

The Roy Billinton Best Student Paper Award honors the most outstanding paper authored (student first author with other student/faculty/advisers as co-authors) and presented by a student at PMAPS . Named in recognition of Professor Roy Billinton’s pioneering contributions to reliability and probabilistic analysis in power systems, this award reflects the conference’s longstanding commitment to supporting emerging scholars in the field.

Eligible papers must have a student as the first and presenting author. The selection will be made by the Technical Program Committee based on the paper’s originality, technical rigor, clarity, and potential impact on the field.

PMAPS Merit Award

The PMAPS Merit Award is intended to recognize and honor individuals for their work in the development of probabilistic methods applied to power systems. The Selection Committee will be comprised of the Resident Directors and the three immediately previous Award Winners.

Best Student Poster Award

Introduced for PMAPS 2026, the Best Student Poster Award will recognize excellence in research communication and visual presentation among student poster participants.

Student authors of accepted papers are invited to participate in the Student Poster Reception for a chance to receive this award. The winner will be selected by a committee of judges based on the clarity, creativity, and technical contribution demonstrated in the poster and presentation.

Details about the judging process, poster templates, and competition schedule will be announced soon.
